Emerald Star (syn. Broadsword)
CORDYLINE
AUSTRALIS X OBTECTA
So-named for its impressive shooting star-like cluster of beautiful green foliage, Cordyline ‘Emerald Star’ adds a decidedly tropical flavor to the landscape. It grows rapidly in its formative years and produces very large, spectacular flower heads in spring to early summer. Birds and bees flock to the masses of tiny, sweetly scented, flowers to get their fill of nectar. Use as a garden or container specimen, focal point and textural contrast, or to impart a tropical effect on patio and deck areas. Plant in free draining soil, in sun or semi-shade and protected from heavy frost. Low maintenance plant. Evergreen.
