GERANIUM
GERANIUM
Fabulous as a filler in a mixed perennial or shrub border, Geranium ‘Annette’ will delight for months on end with her mass of azure-blue flowers, which float like little blue butterflies over attractive, deeply dissected mid-green foliage. Bees flock to ‘Annette’ and she prefers plenty of sunshine to perform her best flowering and stay tidy. A spreading habit makes her a great weed suppressor and a trim in mid-summer will tidy any wayward growth and refresh her for the rest of the season. Plant in friable, free draining soil, in full sun. Cut back hard in winter, to encourage fresh new spring growth. Evergreen.
An oldie but a goodie, Geranium 'Rozanne' is a cottage garden favourite for her attractive, deeply lobed, foliage, topped with masses of violet-blue flowers with a distinctive white centre and striking dark blue veining. 'Rozanne' is not only a vigorous and robust selection, but one of the longest flowering hardy geraniums, flowering from late spring right through to late autumn in mild areas. 'Rozanne' is a magnet for butterflies, bees and other pollinating insects and a wonderful filler and weed suppressor in garden borders. Plant in well drained, moderately fertile, soil, in sun to part shade. Trim as required over summer to maintain appearances and hard back in late autumn to early winter to promote fresh new spring growth. Evergreen.
