Bee Banquet

PVR CUP1751

Cuphea x ignea

So-named for its ability to attract pollinating insects from far and wide, Cuphea 'Bee Banquet' forms a rounded bush to about 1m high and wide. Masses of long, tubular, bi-coloured cherry-red and yellow flowers adorn the bush for many months from spring to autumn. In warmer climates, it tends to flower year-round! Plant 'Bee Banquet' as a filler in garden borders, in large containers, or as an informal screen or low hedge. 'Bee Banquet' is also a great choice to plant close to vege gardens so all the pollinating insects it attracts will naturally be drawn to the vege patch and turbo-charge the pollination going on in there. Plant 'Bee Banquet' in well drained soil, in a warm sunny, sheltered, spot, and protect from frost in cooler areas. Trim lightly as required to maintain the shape. A hard cut back now and then will help rejuvenate the bush. Evergreen.
