Lavandula angustifolia 'Thumbelina Leigh' is a charming miniature lavender discovered in a large trial population of English lavenders, by lavender connoisseur and breeder Elsie Hall, New Zealand. This garden favourite grows in a neat, compact, form, displaying fine, fragrant foliage and flowers of an intensely bright and beautiful violet-blue. 'Thumbelina Leigh' is the earliest flowering Lavandula angustifolia (English Lavender) on the market, and repeat blooms through a long season. After the first flowering in early summer, trim the plant back by half, carefully maintaining the naturally rounded form. A second flowering will follow quite quickly. 'Thumbelina Leigh' produces exceptional essential oil, however her main purpose is a charming garden plant, perfect in mixed borders, pollinator gardens, containers, or as a low growing divider or hedge. 'Thumbelina Leigh' is super drought resistant and cold hardy. Plant in full sun and well drained, average soil than is not acidic. Evergreen.
