Easy care Escallonia ‘Pink Elle’ is an outstanding selection, sporting masses of large, upright panicles of saturated dark pink blooms over the summer months. Bees flock to the flowers, which continue to appear sporadically, well into autumn, after the main flowering. ‘Pink Elle’ forms a dense shrub with glossy green foliage, ideal as a backdrop in garden borders, informal screen or container specimen. It also clips well into a formal hedge, but timing of clipping is crucial to avoid trimming off the summer flowers! ‘Pink Elle’ performs well in average garden conditions and needs little care apart from trimming to shape after flowering and slow-release fertiliser in spring.
