Colourful, easy-care Agapanthus Ecopanthus™ 'Gold Strike' forms clumps of attractive pale gold & green variegated foliage, which, once mature, makes an outstanding year-round feature in the garden. Strong flower stems appear from early to mid-summer, topped with dainty flower heads of deep blue buds that open to elegant picotee, blue & white striped, individual blooms.
'Gold Strike' belongs to the 'low fertile' group of agapanthus, bred specifically to remain sterile (or close to it). 'Low fertile' agapanthus allow gardeners and landscapers to enjoy the many benefits of these amazing plants, without the risk of spreading into the natural environment.
Aptly named 'Gold Strike' makes a striking accent plant, excellent for mass planting in the border or as a star performer for pots on the deck or patio. Agapanthus provide the perfect solution to mass planting on exposed, dry banks and narrow garden areas adjacent to driveways. They are also extremely hardy to coastal conditions, can be considered fireproof, and their tall summer flower stems make a gorgeous cut flower. Evergreen.
