Ligularia’s golden girl was named by James Crawford after his late wife Britt-Marie, who discovered this variety growing in a plot in Fife, Scotland. Luscious leaves emerge in dark chocolate-Maroon tones, eventually fading to green while retaining purple undersides and stems. These tones create a wonderful contrast with the midsummer blooms of brilliant yellow that poke their heads up high above the plush foliage. Attractive to bees and butterflies, these vivid flowers are an eye catcher for all. Exceptional in containers and a natural for all beds and borders, also a great choice for the side of a pond. Water regularly to maintain wet or evenly moist soil, regular water will also maintain and increase the leaf size which can reach to over 30cm across. Best planted in a full or partially sunny location. Deciduous
