Griselinia littoralis Green Horizon, also known under its Maori name KAPUKA, is an ideal hedging plant. Green Horizon is especially ideal for coastal gardens and general seaside shelter hedging. This new selection has deeper green and glossy foliage compared to the commonly used Griselinia. Green Horizon can be easily trimmed to form a neat and compact hedge and it can be used as a specimen plant in the garden. Mature height 6m x 3m unpruned/Dense upright habit. Likes to be in full sun to partial shade and moist but well drained humus rich soil. Hardy to -10C ideal for coastal gardens the thick glossy leaves will withstand light salt spray. Keep pinching out the growing points to encourage more branching for the first year. Planting a hedge space at 75cm apart roughly 2 feet 6 inches,mulch around the plants with composted bark or garden compost to help keep moisture in the soil and help prevent weeds.
